If you are working with Novell networking products, you need to seriously consider CNA certification. CNA (Certified Novell Administrator) certification is an entry-level certification that tests your knowledge of network installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Network Administration Tasks
Network administration involves a complex web of knowledge; you have to be aware of the functionality of the hardware that is used and the software that drives it. You need to know about the computers that are on the network, and you have to be familiar with the networking technology that drives the network. CNA certification helps to make sure that you have the basic level of knowledge you need to be able to use, administer and maintain networks, and it also makes sure that you have recognition for this knowledge. Subjects covered by CNA certification include setting up user workstations, managing resources on the network, automating access to the network, routine software maintenance and monitoring performance.
In order to obtain CNA certification you should take a recognized study course to prepare you for the examination. You then sit the examination, involving multiple-choice questions on the range of knowledge and skill applicable for this level of certification. When you have successfully completed the examination, you will be awarded your CNA certification.
Your CNA certification is the first level of certification that Novell offers. This is the first step in the Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) program.
